First Flush Device

The Aquarius first flush device is a simple, good looking alternative to the "traditional" first flushing methods available. Its compact design and easy maintenance make it the first choice for any tank with a 400mm sieve.

As an added advantage the Aquarius Watermaster First Flush Device blocks sunlight, thus retarding algae growth in the tank.

Installation
  • Unscrew sieve from tank inlet;
  • Place Aquarius Internal First Flush Device into vacant inlet hole, making sure the clear waste tube is inserted into the storm water outlet (overflow) from inside the tank;
  • Ensure there is sufficient height between top of sieve and underside of downpipe inlet to enable the First Flush Device to be removed for maintenance.

Maintenance
  • Check your First Flush Device periodically (after cleaning once or twice you will work out how often your device needs to be cleaned);
  • Lift First Flush Device from tank;
  • Unscrew fitting (attached to clear hose) from bottom of the device;
  • Remove white mesh filter from inside device;
  • Rinse filter and the washer with small hole housed in hose fitting;
  • Unscrew sieve from top of device;
  • Flush out inside of unit with fresh water until clean (the Aquarius First Flush Device is made from food grade polyethylene, making cleaning easier as algae and other debris will not bind to its surface);
  • Replace filter, washer and fitting, insert clear hose back into storm water overflow and lower device back into tank inlet.
  • Unscrew sieve from top of device;
  • Refit Sieve.
